Welcome to Jam Rock!

Welcome to Jam Rock!

I had the opportunity to grab a quick bite to eat on my way back to work today and so, I stopped by Jam Rock Restaurant located at the corner of Wilbraham Rd. and Rutland St . I had heard some good things about this place and so decided to stop by and check them out!!!

As I entered the fairly small café style diner, I was greeted to the sound of Gospel music, which I thought was really nice, yet different from the norm for a Jamaican-style restaurant. The collage of West-Indian socials and upcoming events were plastered on the walls for all to see and inquire about. The counter was mid-level which was great, being that I’m not that tall, I could actually make eye contact,(lol)and the colors, old, which gave off the jammin’ vibration and helped create an atmosphere of “happy feelings” (shout of to Maze featuring Frankie Beverly).

As I approached the counter, I was greeted by a young lady that I assumed would already give me attitude from the jump, like most young people do now-a-days, but to my surprise, when asked to take my order, she waited patiently as I couldn’t make my mind up between, BBQ or Stewed Chicken; Mac & Cheese or Beans & Rice. As I went back and forth in my mind with what I had a taste for, but wasn’t too messy to eat, I decided on the Stewed Chicken and Mac & Cheese. She placed my order and I awaited my snack pack. I was so overwhelming famished that I decided to also grab a beef patty while I waited.  And let me just say, that beef patty was one of the best patty’s I’ve tasted in a very long time!! OMG, it was very fresh and the pastry crust was so moist and flaky. The meat filling was very tasty & hot, just like I like it. I consumed this almost immediately!!!

My lunch came right out and although the packaging wasn’t that pleasing to the eye, as it came in a small Styrofoam container and then in a brown paper bag, which incidentally dripped all over my car…the food was very, very good…fresh & hot….just like I like it! And it even came with a fork and napkin!!!J

Well worth the $7.00 that I spent to obtain a quick, fulfilling bite to eat, that wasn’t fast-food.
I definitely will be back to try some other options on the menu and maybe even sit down at the counter to enjoy next time!!!

Folks, if you’re ever in the area and want to grab something worth-while…stop by

He recalls when he got his first break. "In 1994, I began to meet the who’s-who of what is now the hiera

Conya Doss Gives VII Reasons to Fall in Love Photo Credit: Stephen Midgette Falling in love is definitely not hard to do, especially when you have a beautifully, soulful songstress singing the sweet melodies of the full rush of a love song. If you've never had the love experience, Conya Doss gives you seven reasons to step out on faith and try something new. 'VII' is the title of another classic in the making. Comedian Gerald Kelly Gives the Gift of Laughter and So Much More...

Many know actor, comedian Gerald Kelly for various reasons, but the one that he holds the highest acclaim for is being a stand-up comic with the gift to help people through their life's challenges. The gift that he has isn't just to make people laugh, but to make them cry; cry tears of joy, releasing frustrations of hurt, pain and sometimes defeat. He holds this to be the true purpose for his career as a comedian. If you haven’t heard of this comedic genius in the arena of Comedy, you haven’t heard from one of the greatest that ever did it. The joke about not being the homework parent, but trying to do his son’s homework for him is classic. His son ends up coming home crying about his grade that he received from that assignment, which was not one, but two zeros. When asked by his dad, why did get ‘two’ zeros, the boy explained, “One is for me and one is for you”… and that is just one joke of many that helped build a great career in Stand-Up Comedy.   Ger
