Raheem Devaughn Brings

Love, Sex & Passion on Valentines Day

Raheem Devaughn is a big favorite of Soul in the City. How appropriate is it that the "Love King" returns with a new album just in time for the Valentine's festivities...

February 17th is the date and the name of his newest masterpiece, Love, Sex, & Passion.

Love Sex Passion [+digital booklet]

This is Raheem's fifth studio album, and fans have been waiting and anticipating a new release from the man whose hot single, "Queen", an ode to women everywhere, is blazing the R&B charts.

As reported by Singer's Room: "In preparation for Valentine's Day and to continue to drum up buzz around the upcoming release, Mr. Neo-Soul Junkie gave an exclusive cover of Jodeci's classic single, "My Heart Belongs To You." Now, how many of you remember that hit from the group, (who is trying to make a comeback of their own)? In Ra fashion, he takes it and makes it his own.

Be sure to check out Raheem Devaughn's album which drops in stores on Tuesday, February 17, 2015. But, don 't wait until then, you can Pre-Order on Amazon.com and iTunes.

To set the mood for your romantic interlude of love, you can also preview the full album now via Pandora.

In other Raheem news,  DeVaughn is set to hit the road with Leela James and Ledisi for the ‘Intimate Truth Tour,’ which kicks off February 27th at Club Nokia in L.A. I had the good fortune to attend the a concert in D.C. with Leela, Ledisi and Raheem. This North Philly dude got his start with Jill Scott (Hidden Beach Recordings) and has collaborated with such artists as N'Dambi (Total Eclipse Magazine's premier cover Indie Soul artist), Glenn Lewis and Darrius Rucker. He recalls when he got his first break. "In 1994, I began to meet the who’s-who of what is now the hiera...

Comedian Gerald Kelly Gives the Gift of Laughter and So Much More...

Many know actor, comedian Gerald Kelly for various reasons, but the one that he holds the highest acclaim for is being a stand-up comic with the gift to help people through their life's challenges. The gift that he has isn't just to make people laugh, but to make them cry; cry tears of joy, releasing frustrations of hurt, pain and sometimes defeat. He holds this to be the true purpose for his career as a comedian. If you haven’t heard of this comedic genius in the arena of Comedy, you haven’t heard from one of the greatest that ever did it. The joke about not being the homework parent, but trying to do his son’s homework for him is classic. His son ends up coming home crying about his grade that he received from that assignment, which was not one, but two zeros. When asked by his dad, why did get ‘two’ zeros, the boy explained, “One is for me and one is for you”… and that is just one joke of many that helped build a great career in Stand-Up Comedy.   Ge...
